Anti-CAB agitation continues unabated in Delhi
New Delhi: Hundreds of Delhi based youths from Assam culminated at Delhi's Jantar Mantar and registered their protest against the bill, which has become an Act now.
Taking placards in their hands, the agitators mostly college students and officer shouting anti-CAB slogans- "CAB rollback", "We don't want CAB", "Save our Identity", are some of the demands that the agitators were talking about.
"We will never accept CAA. This is unconstitutional and it hampers our culture and identity," said an agitator while talking to ETV Bharat.
However, agitators from Assam have been facing a difficult task in New Delhi because they need to tell their colleagues in office or classmate in colleges 'the reason they are fighting for.'
"People think we are fighting against Muslims...but no we don't have any difference with our Muslim friends. We are fighting to keep the right of indigenous people of Assam intact. We are afraid that people from Bangladesh would marginalize us in our own state," said another agitator.
Ever since, Government has passed the CAB in the Parliament and it's subsequent assent by President Ram Nath Kovind, agitators across India, especially in Assam, have been demanding the government to withdraw the bill.
"We want that Government withdraws CAB which pose as a threat on our Identity, culture and traditions," said another agitator.
Meanwhile, the anti-CAB agitation at Jantar Mantar was also attended by people from other parts of the northeast, as several other parts of the landlocked region also comes under the ambit of CAB.
