New Delhi: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjinder Singh Sirsa has extended support to the Pakistan-based Sikh family of Jagjeet Kaur, who was allegedly abducted, forcibly converted to Islam and married to a Muslim boy last year.

Reacting to reports that Kaur's family has requested Pakistani authorities to provide them passports so that they could leave Pakistan, the DSGMC president said that the family will be provided with all possible support in case it decides to settle in India.

"If the family comes to Delhi, we will help it settle here. There won't be any problem as all possible help will be provided to them," he said in a video message released here.

Criticizing the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Government, Sirsa said it has failed to protect minorities in the country as the Sikhs and the others were harassed beyond imagination.

"Please be kind to hand over Jagjeet Kaur to us or get our passports made so that we can live a dignified and safe life in another country," the family of Kaur reportedly told the authorities there.
