New Delhi: Demonstrations are being organized across the country to protest against the Farm Bill passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Punjab and Haryana remained most affected by the Bharat Bandh while Uttar Pradesh saw a mixed response.
Hannan Molla, the AIKS general secretary and senior CPI (M) leader on farm bills Protests were also organized at Delhi's Jantar Mantar by the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), the CPI-M's farmer unit, and the trade union organization CITU (Center for Indian Trade Unions), where some politicians from the Left parties also took part.
The farmers who started from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab to reach the capital were stopped by the police present at the Delhi border.
CITU, AIKS, and members from the leftist parties accused the Modi government of cheating the Indian farmers.

Hannan Molla, the AIKS general secretary and senior CPI (M) leader said that this bill is a fraud for farmers and after the introduction of these bills, not only will the minimum support price (MSP) be abolished but also the Food Corporation of India (FCI) will be abolished.
Molla added that the Modi government only wants to privatise farming for profits. He said that the farmers of the country will not allow these laws to be enforced at any cost.
The farmers' movement has also got support from the country's large trade union, CITU. It is to be noted that in the monsoon session of Parliament major changes have also been made in the labour laws.
Three new labour codes have been introduced for the industry sector including Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Bill - 2020, Industrial Relations Bill - 2020 and Social Security Bill - 2020, all of which are being opposed by labour units across the country.
On September 23, protests were organized by CITU in more than one lakh place across the country against the new Labour Code after which they have been protesting in conjunction with the Kisan movement.
Demonstrating at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, CITU General Secretary Tapan Sen said that through these new labour codes, the Modi government is only taking away the rights of workers to strike, and leaving the labourers of the country at the mercy of big companies.

He added that the labourers will be forced to do whatever the companies want. They will be hired and fired whenever the companies want.
The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, labour unit of the RSS has also expressed objections to the new labour code and has opposed it.
A total of 25 bills were passed in the monsoon session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, out of which three are related to farmers and three bills to labourers.
According to the government, these bills have been brought in the interest of farmers and labourers. However, all the bills are constantly being opposed by various organizations.
CPI (M) and CPI MPs were also present during the protests at Jantar Mantar.
