Doctors cycle to raise awareness about blood donation

The cycle rally by doctors at AIIMS in Delhi comes ahead of World Blood Donor Day on June 14.

New Delhi:The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) took out a cycle rally on Sunday to spread awareness among people about blood donation in the national capital.

During the rally, the doctors also urged people to participate enthusiastically in the blood donation camp to be held on June 14 on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. They said that those who were infected with Covid-19 can also donate blood after 22 days of recovery. At the same time, those who have got the vaccine jab can donate blood after a gap of 14 days.

The doctors also said that there has been a shortage of blood as many social organizations could not organise blood donation camps due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic. "So we urge people to come in large numbers to donate blood and save lives," they added.
