Actor Nora Fatehi defamation case against Jacqueline comes up for hearing

The criminal defamation case filed by actress Nora Fatehi against Jacqueline Fernandez, came up for hearing in Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Saturday.

New Delhi: The criminal defamation case filed by actress Nora Fatehi against Jacqueline Fernandez, came up for hearing in Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Saturday. Nora had filed a defamation case against Jacqueline for dragging her name in Sukesh Chandrashekhar's Rs 200 crore fraud and money laundering case.

Nora said that conman Sukesh's wife Leena Maria was known to her. She had nothing to do with Sukesh. Nora was accusing Jacqueline that the latter was ruining her career for her own benefit. Jacqueline had given a statement in the court that other celebrities, including Nora Fatehi, had also taken expensive gifts from Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The Enforcement Directorate also interrogated Nora after Jacqueline took Nora's name. After the ED's grilling of Nora, the incident got a lot of coverage in the media. Upset over this, Nora had also filed a defamation case against several media houses accusing them of tarnishing her image.

However, the ED made Nora a witness and Jacqueline an accused in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case. Nora's case was listed for hearing in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Gupta on Saturday. The case was listed for hearing and was allotted number 53.

The ED had seized Jacqueline's fixed deposit worth Rs 7.2 crore in the case. After interrogation and investigation by the ED, Jacqueline's name was added to the charge sheet. Jacqueline's FD worth Rs 7.2 crore was also seized. The ED alleged that Jacqueline had deposited the money, which she got from Sukesh. On the other hand, Jacqueline said that the FD money was her hard-earned money and was earned before coming in contact with Sukesh. Jacqueline had said these things in court while presenting her side on the allegations of ED.
