New Delhi: Aam Admi Party on Wednesday protested against the rising fuel prices at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in the national capital.
The workers of all the frontal organisation of the party took to the streets and marched towards the BJP headquarter.
AAP workers protest against fuel price hike in Delhi The social distancing was also ignored during the protest. However, the protesters were later detained by the police. The demonstration was held under the leadership of Senior party leader Rajendra Pal Gautam.
Rajendra Pal Gautam told ETV Bharat that the Centre has adopted a dictatorial attitude towards the oil prices. "Due to an increase in petrol prices, the amount of freight has also gone up. This has a direct impact on the income of common man," Rajendra added.
After the prices of petrol and diesel were increased by Rs 0.05 and Rs 0.13 respectively on Monday. The cost of petrol per litre stands at Rs 80.43 and diesel prices stand at Rs 80.53 in Delhi.
Before the nation entered the lockdown, the average price of petrol and diesel in Delhi was Rs 69.60 per litre and Rs 62.30 per litre respectively.
