AAP MLA Atishi, Health Minister Satyendra Jain announces decision to donate plasma

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Thursday the first plasma bank in the country for the novel coronavirus patients in the city, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain and AAP MLA Atishi Marlena have come forward and announced their decision to donate plasma.

New Delhi: The Delhi government has started the first plasma bank in the country for the novel coronavirus patients in the city and urged the COVID survivors to come forward and donate plasma to save lives.

Among those who hope to donate the plasma are Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain and AAP MLA Atishi Marlena after recovering from coronavirus.

"I have decided to donate my plasma, as soon as I’m medically fit to do so," Atishi Marlena tweeted.

"Plasma therapy saved my life from Coronavirus and I pledge to donate my plasma as soon as medical protocols will allow," Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain tweeted.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the patients who were treated from Covid-19 and have completed 14 days after their treatment are eligible for donating plasma.

He said that the people who want to donate must be between 18 and 60 age groups, must have weight more than 50 kg.

He further said that till the time vaccine is not ready, plasma is more helpful for treating COVID patients.

The Chief Minister also said that many other states are using plasma therapy to treat Covid-19 patients.
