Aadi Mahotsav at Dilli Haat comes to an end

The fortnight-long Aadi Mahotsav featured the exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, art, paintings, fabric, jewellery, organic food products and much more. Artisans and artists from across the country participated in the festival.

New Delhi: Aadi Mahotsav, the annual tribal festival, organised by Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation (TRIFED), Ministry of Tribal Affairs, at Dilli Haat concluded on Monday.

The fortnight-long festival featured the exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, art, paintings, fabric, jewellery, organic food products and much more.

About one thousand tribal artisans and artists from across the country participated in the festival.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Artisans from Jharkhand said that people came in large number this time to visit the festival which saw a rise in their sale.

"I thank the Tribal Affairs ministry for organising this kind of festival. This year sale has been very good. I sold almost all the items which I had brought from the Jharkhand," said one of the artisans.

It is worth mentioning here that Aadi Mahotsav is an annual event which started in 2017.

On the one hand, it aims at familiarising people with the rich and diverse culture of tribal communities across the country, and on the other, it intends economic welfare of the tribal communities and brings them closer towards mainstream development.
