200 migrants share plight after releasing from Shahdara quarantine centre

Nearly 200 migrant labourers have been released on Friday from the Shahdara quarantine center built in Mandoli Jail in North East Delhi. The migrants alleged that they were not given proper food in the quarantine centre. Also, they have arranged a bus on their own as no transportation help was provided to them by the government.

New Delhi: Nearly 200 migrant labourers who have been released on Friday from the Shahdara Quarantine center built in Mandoli Jail in North East Delhi narrated their pain they suffered in a nine-day quarantine period.

According to the information, all of them were brought to Delhi from the Maldives under the Vande Bharat Mission. They were taken to the Shahdara Quarantine center from the airport.

The migrants alleged that they were not given proper food in the quarantine centre. "If we eat properly then only we can fight with the diseases," a migrant said.

The migrants also alleged that no transportation help from the government was given to them, they have arranged a bus on their own for Rs 3,000 for around 40 people to reach their home in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, etc.
