1500 migrants in South Delhi sent to Northeast amid COVID-19 outbreak

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the South Delhi district administration has sent nearly 1500 people staying in Government boys school in the Pushp Vihar area to the Northeast. They were taken to the New Delhi railway station in 72 buses.

New Delhi: Nearly 1500 people from the Government boys school in the Pushp Vihar area in South Delhi were sent to New Delhi railway station in 72 buses from where, after the screening test they were sent to Northeast via train.

"These people were living in Punjab, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, and around Delhi. Some of them are students, and some were doing jobs," SDM Kapil Chaudhary said.

The South Delhi district administration is constantly working to send the migrant labourers to their homes in view of the rising number of cases in the national capital.
