New Delhi: The Delhi government on Tuesday decided to reserve 10 per cent beds in private hospitals for coronavirus patients below the poverty line.
Ashok Aggarwal, member of EWS Inspection Committee said that 10 per cent beds in 61 private hospitals in Delhi are already reserved for people below the poverty line under EWS quota.
"People under this category will now get free treatment for coronavirus. They will be provided with this facility on the basis of the number of beds in the hospital," he added.
On 25 May, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that 2000 beds in private hospitals in Delhi will be available for coronavirus patients.
