Raipur: With the world finding itself overwhelmed with carbon emissions from vehicles, a youngster from Chhattisgarh has found an innovative alternative to combat environmental distress.

Hailing from Chapli, a tiny village in Chhattisgarh's Dhamtari district, Dakesh Sahoo transformed his simple bicycle into a battery-powered motorcycle.

Although Dakesh does not have an engineering degree, the 12th pass youngster hopes his new innovation provides a cheaper and greener alternative to people.

"With my project, I want everyone to be able to ride a bike at low cost. The bike will reduce petrol usage and will also help in curbing air pollution," he said.

Equipped with a 1000-watt motor and two batteries to run it, the bike can reach impressive speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour. What makes the innovation even more remarkable is the fact that it was built at the cost of a mere 8 thousand rupees. Dakesh took only two days to complete his project.

After completing his e-bike project, the youngster wants to pursue electronic related studies. He hopes to create more such innovations to bring about a positive change in the agricultural sector.
