Balrampur: A two-year-old tribal child allegedly died because of malnutrition and starvation at Bhagwan Kenpara village in Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district. The child belonged to Kodaku tribes of the state.
As per reports, the family has no land or ration card and it does not get the benefit of the facilities available under various schemes of the government.
Speaking to media, SK Markaam, Women Child Development Project Officer, refused to "confirm" the incident, saying there was not enough information to attribute the death to hunger.
"It would be too early to say that the child died of hunger. The matter is being investigated and we will come to know the exact reason of the death only after the report comes," he said.
