Balod (Chhattisgarh): Three members of a family died and three others, including an infant were seriously injured after their car collided with a truck in Chhattisgarh's Balod district last night. The family had bought the car on the previous day and was returning after offering puja at Donagarh.
Police said the accident took place in near Sahagaon village on Dondilohara Dallirajhara main road under Lohara police station area. The visibility was low due to the storm, police said. The car, coming from Lohara first hit a buffalo that had strayed into the road and then rammed into a truck heading from the opposite direction, police added.
All six members hail from Gidhali village. The deceased including a women, a minor girl and a man died on the spot. They have been identified as Champa Lal Sahu (38), Khushi Sahu (16) and Ahilya Bai (55). Three others of the family namely Ram Ji Sahu (60) , Yamuna Sahu (32) and nine-month-old Riddhik Sahu have been admitted to the hospital. Among the injured, the infant's condition is very serious.
