Raipur:Chhattisgarh government on Saturday filed a caveat in the Bilaspur High Court in connection with the suspended IPS GP Singh case stating that the court should hear its side before giving any judgement on the matter. This comes after GP Singh moved to the Bilaspur High Court demanding a CBI inquiry challenging the sedition case against him under the charges of corruption. Singh has termed the action taken against him as 'biased'.
He was suspended in a disproportionate assets case following raids at his premises by the state's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Economic Offences Wing (EOW). According to police, the documents recovered during the raids revealed that he was allegedly involved in promoting enmity and hatching a conspiracy against the established government and public representatives.

According to police, Singh was booked under IPC sections 124-A (sedition) and 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc) of the IPC.
