Mahasamund, (Chhattisgarh):The Chhattisgarh Police have secured a large consignment of silver from smugglers in the Singhoda police station area. The police have recovered 235 kgs of silver bricks worth Rs 1 crore 76 lakhs. A total of 243 kgs of silver has been recovered from the smugglers. The police have also recovered cash worth more than Rs 5 lakhs from the jewellery smugglers.

Two people have been arrested in this case. Both of them were smuggling silver from Odisha to Uttar Pradesh through a car. The Police caught both the smugglers during vehicle checking near Rehtikhol on NH-53. They were going from Odisha to Agra (Uttar Pradesh) with a huge consignment of silver. Both the accused Gaurav Shalya and Sanjay Khan are residents of Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
