Kanker (Chhattisgarh):A looted X95 automatic gun has been found in the possession of one of the suspected three Maoists, who were killed in an encounter in the forests of Kosranda in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Monday.
The encounter reportedly took place near Kosranda under the Rawghat police station limits.
The skirmish took place in a forest around 8 am when a team of SSB's 33rd battalion was out on patrolling duty from its Kosranda camp, Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P said.
An X-95 rifle, one SLR rifle and a country-made weapon were also found at the encounter site, located around 150 km from the state capital Raipur, he said.
After guns fell silent, bodies of three ultras, including a woman, clad in 'uniform' were recovered, he said.
During the search, Badru, age 25, resident of village Kamka Gangalur, Jyoti, age 22, resident of South Bastar, Guddu Salam, age 26, Member of Village Mechanar, Police Station Ambeda, Uttar Bastar Kanker were neutralised following an exchange of fire with jawans.
The police official confirmed that the X95 automatic gun recovered from slain Maoist. The weapons were seized by Maoists from CRPF personnel in Rowghat area in the year 2018 Chhattisgarh.
Inspector-General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P. says,''1 SLR rifle, X-95 rifle were recovered from the spot. It is noteworthy that X-95 weapon recovered from Maoists was looted from BSF force in the year 2018 by Maoists in an ambush in Rowghat area.''
The great feature of X-95 weapons is that this weapon can be targeted even at night while, also being better suited to close-quarters combat and mechanized infantry roles. The precision through the lens and the laser is also guaranteed to be accurate. There is a slight sound when using this weapon. The X-95 has a range of 25 to 300 meters.
