Paryawaran Dham: A temple where nature is truly worshipped

The Paryawaran Dham temple in Chhattisgarh has a different protocol. In this temple the devotees worship nature and not the deity. This temple is famous for its heritage and natural diversity.

Durg: The Paryawaran Dham in Ameri village of Chhattisgarh can be called as one of the most interesting temples of the country. It is a prominent pilgrim spot for Hindus from around the country. It is a temple where people worship nature and not the deity.

The state that has got its name from 36 ancient forts in the area is famous for its heritage and natural diversity.

This holy place is open all round the year.

The temple is surrounded by Peepal trees (Sacred fig) and banyan trees. The local youth of the village have now started planting mango, gooseberry and bel saplings in the premises.

Construction of the temple:

The construction of the temple started around 20 years ago when a Priest started planting saplings in a row. The villagers helped the priest and named the temple as Paryawaran Dham.

Protect the environment:

One of the local residents, Ratnakar Mishra considers the temple special and says that nature will protect us if we protect it now. He adds that if the construction of such temple increases in the country, the major challenges such as global warming can be avoided.

The ancient temple is not only a pilgrim centre but also a worthy tourist attraction that reverberates with a heritage which is something you won’t find in the rest of India.
