Raipur: In a bid to woo villagers and coax them into joining their cadre, Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district have come up with their own 'resettlement plan', wherein land is promised to people in return for their support.
According to reports, the Communist Party of India (Maoist)'s South Bastar Divisional Committee has been distributing pamphlets in Dantewada's Jagargunda area. Urging people not to vacate the village, the pamphlet promises to offer them agricultural land in their village itself. The pamphlet also urges villagers to support Naxals and not become police informers.
Reacting on the above, Deputy Inspector General (anti-naxal operations) Sundarraj P told ETV Bharat, "The pamphlets prove that the Naxals are shaken by the massive number of surrenders. Their numbers have now sharply declined, and to strengthen their cadre, they have resorted to this option."
