Dantewada (Chhattisgarh):A dreaded Naxal commander on Saturday surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada division after he was persuaded by his sister.
Malla Bhairamgarh, who was heading Bastar local operation squad (LOS), surrendered today, according to Director General of Police, Dantewada Range.
"He was persuaded by his sister to surrender and join the mainstream. As per his statement, Malla, a native of Bhairamgarh area in West Bastar district, got detached from his family in 2005 when the erstwhile anti-Naxal movement - Salwa Judum - was at the peak in the region and rebels took him along with them. Recently, when Malla had arrived at his sister's place in Dantewada, his sister met him and convinced him to quit the movement," Dantewada, SP, Abhishek Pallav said.
