Humane act: Korba Judge gives verdict near the car of differently-abled complainant

A unique case of a judge's generosity has come to the fore in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh. Here, the District Sessions Judge, BP Verma, walked up to a differently-abled complainant and gave his verdict in the middle of the road. In the judgment, he ordered the insurance company to pay a compensation amount of Rs 20 lakh. The hearing of the youth's case was held in the Lok Adalat in Korba on Saturday.

Korba (Chhattisgarh): A unique case of a judge's generosity has come to the fore in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh. Here, the District Sessions Judge, BP Verma, walked up to a differently-abled complainant and gave his verdict in the middle of the road. In the judgment, he ordered the insurance company to pay a compensation amount of Rs 20 lakh. The hearing of the youth's case was held in the Lok Adalat in Korba on Saturday.

In a road accident three years ago, the differently-abled complainant, Dwarka Prasad Kanwar, had applied against the insurance company. But no hearing was being held against the application. On Saturday, District Sessions Judge BP Verma of Korba got information about the handicapped youth that he was helpless to walk, then he reached near his car.

He also called for the documents related to the young man's case and the party related to the case near the complainant's car. After the hearing, a reconciliation was made between the complainant and the insurance company. After the agreement, Judge BP Verma gave the decision to give a compensation amount of Rs 20 lakhs to the youth.

The case was pending for three years

The case was being heard for three years. After the judgment was pronounced by Judge BP Verma on Saturday, the complainant, Dwarka Prasad expressed happiness and thanked the court for the humane act. According to the complainant, Dwarka Prasad Kanwar was going to Korba in a car on December 3, 2018, at around five in the morning, during which he met with an accident and became physically disabled.
