Bastar (Chhattisgarh):Four Naxals, two of them carrying cash reward, surrendered before Kondagaon police superintendent on Sunday.

The cadres, including two women, turned themselves in before Kondagaon Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari and other officials, citing that they were impressed by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government.

"The surrendered Naxals said they were disappointed with the hollow Maoist ideology and their anti-people activities. At the same time, they also expressed that they were impressed by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government," said Kondagaon SP Siddharth Tiwari.

"They were given Rs 10,000 each as encouragement money and they all will be provided assistance as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy," he said.

"The four admitted to their involvement in the encounters between Naxals and police in several places in Bastar," the SP said.
