Bastar:Five Naxals, three of them carrying cash rewards on their heads, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bastar division on Thursday.
Sannu Kunjam (28) and Budhram Mandavi (20) turned themselves in Dantewada district, while Mehattar Korram (35) surrendered in Narayanpur district, a senior police officer said.
Sonaru Poyam and his wife Manju Mandavi surrendered before Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Vivekanand Sinha in Jagdalpur, the headquarters of Bastar district.
Kunjam, a Maoist Jan-militia commander, and Budhram Mandavi, a member of DAKMS (Dandkaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangathan- a Maoist front) were carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh each on their heads, he said.
The two were active in Gangloor area in neighbouring Bijapur district and were wanted for attacks on police teams, planting IEDs and other incidents, he said.
