Raipur:Carcass of an elephant calf was found trapped inside the marsh in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, a forest official said.
Elephant calf found dead in Chhattisgarh The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Dhamtari, Amitabh Vajpayee stated that the Forest Department team reached the spot as soon as it received the information.

"Significantly, a herd of 21 elephants had wandered and reached Dhamtari from Gariaband district. Further, the group kept wandering off in the forests of Dhamtari, one of the baby elephants which apparently went missing from the group was later found dead. According to the sources, the elephant calf was found trapped inside a marsh," the DFO added.
