Raipur: Amid increasing cases of coronavirus, a sculptor in Chhattisgarh's Raipur on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi has made the sculpture of deity with herbs and spices which are effective in fighting the coronavirus.
Sculptor Shiv Charan Yadav, is known for sculpting eco-friendly Ganesha images every year in Raipur. He informed that the idol has been made by using herbs which include black pepper, dry ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, cloves. He has further named the deity 'Kadha wale Ganapati' to educate people to consume immunity boosting herbs in their diet.
Shivcharan said, it took him one whole month to make this unique Ganpati idol. The colours used are very pleasing and it can't be commonly found. Further, this herbal Ganpati has been made only with those herbs which are used to make the herbal decoction, he added.
Locals say, it is for the first time that such an idol has been made. Apart from this, small images have also been made, which have been used in making molly dhaga (coloured sacred thread), wood, paddy and spices.
