Narayanpur:At least five persons, including tribal leader Rupsai Salam, were arrested in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur on Tuesday, a day after violence erupted and a church was vandalized by protestors demonstrating against religious conversion. Apart from Salam, the four others arrested in relation to the incident have been identified as Paban Nag, Domesh Yadav, Ankit Nandi, and Atul Tenam.
Meanwhile, A BJP delegation heading to the area was stopped near the Benur checkpost in the district on Tuesday evening. In a tweet, committee member and MLA Shivratan Sharma put out a video of the area, with a large group of people, led by leaders from the saffron party, sloganeering against the blockade.
"Struggle against all tyranny is our slogan." While on our way to investigate missionary attacks on local tribals in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, we were stopped by the police administration near Berun police station for unreasonable reasons" Sharma said.
