Sukma (Chhattisgarh, India) : In a Naxal ambush on Sunday, a sub-inspector of the Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) 165th battalion was killed while a constable was injured near Bedre camp in Jagargunda of Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Sunday, police sources said.
The deceased sub-inspector has been identified as Sudhakar Reddy while the injured constable, Ramu, is being given first aid and has been airlifted for treatment by a helicopter. "Four suspects have been taken into custody and an intensive search of the surrounding area is being done by the CRPF, Cobra and District Force," the police added.
Naxalites opened fire on Bedre Camp:On Sunday, at 7 am, a company of CRPF 165th battalion had set out on a searching operation from Bedre Camp of Jagargunda police station area. When they were going towards Ursangal, the Naxalites opened fire on the soldiers. CRPF Sub Inspector Sudhakar Reddy was martyred in the encounter between security forces and Naxalites. Besides, constable Ramu was seriously injured by a bullet.
