Sarangarh Bilaigarh: In a macabre incident, a cargo truck driver after beheading a person was carrying the deceased's headless body on his vehicle. The grisly incident happened in Sarangarh Bilaigarh district of Chhattisgarh. The identity of the deceased was not known, police said.
The accused Umashankar Sahu, a cargo truck driver in the Sarsiwa area of the state, committed the heinous crime on Monday night. The accused beheaded a person. He then loaded the deceased's on his truck and was found driving the vehicle in the area with the headless body. At the midnight, Umashankar reached his village Gagori with the deceased's body. The accused parked his truck and went to sleep inside his house. The accused was carrying the body on his truck and the vehicle passed through five police station areas.

The next morning, the accused Umashankar got ready as on any normal day. He again drove the vehicle with the body. When some people noticed a headless body lying on the rear portion of the vehicle, they raised an alarm. The massage was passed on to the police. The police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. The accused is a resident of Gagori village. But, he currently stays at Transport Nagar in Raigad. A large contingent of police forces arrived at the village. Police had to face a tough task in arresting the accused as villagers did not allow the police to arrest the accused, but in vain.
Earlier, the accused had crossed five police station areas with the corpse lying on his truck. But it was noticed by no one. The accused Umashankar is a hardcore criminal. He was found brandishing a sword on Parshuram Jayanti in Raigarh. The accused was arrested by the police under the Arms Act. Umashankar was out on bail a few days ago. Four to five cases are pending against him.
