BIZARRE! Sal tree releases water mysteriously, video goes viral

A Sal tree in Chhattisgarh has become the centre of attraction for many. The trunk of the tree was seen releasing a narrow stream of water on Tuesday night. Hundreds of people gathered near Gariaband district's PWD office on National Highway to witness the incident. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

Gariaband: In a bizarre incident, a Sal tree in Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh has become the centre of attraction after a narrow stream of water was observed flowing out from its trunk on Tuesday night. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

The mysterious tree is located in front of the Public Works Department (PWD) office near the National Highway here.

Some people believed that the water must have surfaced due to an underground pipeline which was linked to the Pairi river of the district. While others associated the incident with mythological aspects as they believe that water leakage from steal pipelines is unusual.

The water is emerging from a small opening inside the trunk of the tree which is nearly two feet above the ground.

However, officials of the PWD and the PHE department have denied giving any opinion over this.

Sal tree, scientifically known as Shorea robusta, is an evergreen native to the Indian subcontinent. According to Hinduism, the tree is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Jainism states that the 24th Tirthankara, Mahavira, achieved enlightenment under a Sal tree.

This tree is specifically used as housing timber.
