Jagdalpur:As Covid-19 cases witnessed an uptick, lockdown is in place in Chattisgarh's Bastar for a week. While everyone remains cautious inside the four walls of their home, homeless and poor people find it hard to make both ends meet when the hassle of the city has come to a standstill. Driven by their pangs, a group of youngsters under the aegis of Bastaria Back Benchers have been braving Covid fears, risking their health and volunteering to provide food to the needy.

Parmeshwar Nair, a member of the group said that they have been involved in socially responsible activities. He said that hotels are closed during lockdown and poor, helpless people are finding it hard to feed themselves. Without any support from the government and administration, they have been distributing nutritious and delicious two meals per day to the needy, he said.
