Population control have been given religious colors: Rashid Alvi

Baba Ramdev had stated that "the third child should not be allowed to contest polls or enjoy government privileges". Rashid Alvi while speaking to ETV Bharat said that BJP and its leaders are trying to give religious colours on issues like population control.

New Delhi: Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Singh backed Yoga guru Baba Ramdev over his population control statement saying, "these laws are necessary for the development of the country."

The yoga guru, who also runs a chain of consumer goods store - Patanjali, had stated that "the third child should not be allowed to contest polls or enjoy government privileges."

While talking to ETV Bharat, Congress leader Rashid Alvi pointed at Baba Ramdev and said that he is a businessman and he is raising such issue.

He also said that issues like population control has been given religious colours.

He also said that BJP and its leaders are trying to disturb its opponent.
