Jaipur:Who knew that the girl who refused to continue with her studies will top the state board's exam. Sheela Jat, a milkman's daughter from Jaipur, topped the state board's Class 10 exams by securing 595 marks out of 600 (99.17 per cent).

She secured 100 each in Mathematics and Science, 99 each in English, Hindi and Social Science and 98 in Sanskrit.

Scores are not her only achievement. She topped the boards despite the situation she was living in.

Sheela's father, Mohanlal Jat owns four buffaloes and sells milk. Her parents were illiterate who could provide no help to her in studies. While other students had access to various facilities from tuition classes to better self-help books, she did it all by herself.

One day, when the school management noticed her absence they contacted her parents. She had decided to drop her studies until her cousin convinced her to continue with the school. And that decision turned out to be the best decision of her life.

While sharing her experience she said, "One should never get disappointed with lesser marks. I have scored less in my earlier exams in school. Although I was shocked after receiving low grades, I learned from my failures to achieve this score."

She is determined to achieve big things in her life.

"I want to pursue my career in medicine and become a neurosurgeon so that I can treat patients suffering from brain cancer," she says while her eyes shine with confidence.
