Locals prevent COVID-19 survivor to enter society

A woman from Bihar's Darbhanga district who after recovering from COVID-19 disease was returning to her home in the ambulance but was stopped by the local people from entering the society. The police also supported the local people and illtreated the driver and sent back the ambulance to the hospital.

Darbhanga (Bihar) Looks like people fighting with COVID-19 disease had to fight with the society members as well.

After the government urged everyone to behave well with people suffering from Corona or who came negative after the test, people are not taking this seriously.

One such case was seen in Bihar's Darbhanga after the woman who won the battle against the deadly disease returning to her home in the ambulance was stopped by the local people from entering the society.

The ambulance drivers of the Darbhanga Medical College Hospital alleged that they kept pleading with the people for two and a half hours but they didn't allow them to enter the society.

When the drivers informed about this in the nearby police station, police reached the spot but did not help them but supported local members and illtreated the drivers and asked them to go back to the hospital.

After all this, the ambulance returned to the hospital.

Ambulance technician Ramashish Mahato said, "On the orders of DMCH Superintendent, we took the woman to her home, but the locals did not allow us to enter the locality."

He said that the police also did not help but instead rebuked them.

The driver Vikram Thakur said "Both the locals and the police have treated us badly. They will agitate against this and will stop the ambulance service."

When the matter was discussed with Darbhanga DM Dr Thyagarajan SM, he termed the incident as 'unfortunate'.

He said that those who are returning after defeating Corona should be treated well and he will take all necessary step against this discrimination.
