Women police officers leading fight against COVID-19 in Bihar

Women police personnel in Bihar are leading from the front in order to maintain law and order in the cities. Some police officers spoke to ETV Bharat who said that they are staying away from their homes without taking any leaves.

Patna:Amid the nationwide lockdown imposed to contain the novel coronavirus infection, police officers across the country are working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the cities and to keep a check on the people who are violating the social distancing norms and lockdown.

In Patna, some women police officers are performing their duty on the frontline without taking any leaves and staying away from their homes for nearly six months.

'Duty Comes First'

Aarti Kumari, police constable is on lockdown duty in Patna and has not taken a single day leave in the past six months. Displaying courage and dedication towards the duty, Aarti said that she had to visit her family before the lockdown, however, due to these unprecedented circumstances she answered the call of duty in this crucial time.

'Happy to serve the public'

Savita Kumari who is posted at the Boring Road intersection in Patna, said that it is her duty to take care of her family along with the general public. As per the orders of the Government, they are keeping an eye on people who leave their house unnecessarily. I am strictly dealing with those who violate Government rules.

'Duty and family together'

Speaking to ETV Bharat, inspector Meera Kumari said that along with the duty in lockdown, we have to see our family as well. We are staying away from our family, but serving the nation is our topmost priority nowadays.
