Bhagalpur (Thana Bihpur):Farmers of Bihpur Guaridih on Sunday destroyed their own crops in an effort to see Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who was in the village to check out the antiquities found in the district.
When the CM's helicopter reached the village, people raced to see him closely. In order to do so, they ran over the matured crops in about five acre of land.
Even though the police personnel present at the site tried to calm down the villagers, they were unsuccessful.
Seeing the large quantity of destruction, Bhagalpur DM has given assurance of proper compensation to the farmers.
DM Pranab Kumar said compensation will be given after measuring the destroyed crop.

The District Officer, Bihpur, Balaram Prasad said that Amin has been sent to measure the damaged crops and fields. About 5 acres of crop has been damaged and appropriate compensation will be given to the farmers whose crop has been destroyed after the measurement.
At the same time, there are dozens of farmers including local farmers Rajesh Chaudhary, Anil Sharma Sunita Chaudhary Rohit Kumar, who have demanded the destroyed crops in their area from DM Pranab Kumar of Bhagalpur. He also assured them. Compensation of the destroyed crops will be made available as soon as possible.
