New Delhi(India):Rashtriya Janata Dal's chief spokesperson and MLA Bhai Virender said today that Tejashwi Yadav will be the Chief Minister candidate of the grand alliance in 2020 Bihar Assembly Elections.

He said that the Grand Alliance would contest the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav and Yadav will only be the CM candidate for assembly elections.

He further said." Few of the Congress leaders are making false statements on Tejashwi Yadav. As no statement has been made by Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi, we are not taking any statements seriously."

"Such statements can affect the alliance" he added.

Tejashwi Yadav to be the CM candidate of the grand alliance in 2020 Bihar Assembly Elections: Bhai Virendra

Virender Singh Rathore, Secretary of Congress in Bihar said, " Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi will decide the CM candidate of the Grand Alliance for the assembly elections in Bihar.

Congress Legislature Party leader, Sadanand Singh said, "RJD should give up its ego after the crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections as RJD could not win a single seat in the Lok Sabha elections".

In the Mahagathbandhan meeting held in Patna, parties like Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RSLP), Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) involved in the grand alliance made no remarks on whether Tejashwi will be considered as the CM candidate or not.

Today, Bhai Birendra cleared the speculations that under the leadership of Tejashwi, the Mahagathbandhan will contest the Bihar Assembly elections.

While the main contest is set to be between the BJP-JD(U) and RJD-Congress-led Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan, smaller regional parties are also looking to grab voters’ attention in the state where assembly elections are due next year.

In the 2015 Assembly elections, the RJD had emerged as the single largest party winning 80 seats, the JD(U) 71 and the BJP 53. The Congress bagged 27 seats in the 243-seat Bihar Assembly.

However, Nitish who was then part of the Mahagathbandhan formed the government with RJD. Later he opted out of the alliance in 2017 to join hands with the BJP within 24 hours of resigning from the CM’s post.
