He said that they made a demand for caste census in Bihar. He also said that PM Modi carefully listened to every leader on the issue. He is hopeful that Central government will conduct the caste-based head count in Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav said, "Caste census is very important. It is the need of the hour and should not be delayed further. If there is a caste census, then it will help in sketching development plans on the basis of the actual number of castes of each weaker section. Everyone will be able to get the benefits of government schemes. It will also bring out details of number of different castes."

Tejashwi Yadav further added that we want the development of every section of society, so the caste enumeration is necessary. He said that if the central government will not get it done, then Nitish Kumar should get it done in Bihar. We will support them on this issue. All parties are united in Bihar on caste census. When animals, trees and plants can be counted, then why can't there be head count for poor people.
