To put an end to the woes of her family, the 14-year-old girl, Nandini Kumari, has turned into a rickshaw puller.

Earlier Nandini used to work as a maid but the coronavirus outbreak rendered her jobless. Struggling financially, she decided to turn into a rickshaw puller and help her family.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Nandini said that earlier her father used to pull the rickshaw but he lost his job as restrictions were imposed in the state due to coronavirus.

"I decided to pull rickshaw as I had no work. I used to work as a housemaid but due to coronavirus outbreak, I lost the job so I took this rickshaw on rent," she added.

It is to be noted that the coronavirus-induced crisis has already disproportionately hurt marginalized communities due to loss of livelihood and lack of food, shelter, health, and other basic needs.
