Rohtak (Haryana): Several migrant labourers from Bihar, who moved to Haryana's Rohtak in search of work, have a unique offer for political parties. They have promised to vote for the leader who arranges their return to their home state.
Though many such migrants desire to return to Bihar to exercise their franchise in the upcoming state Assembly elections, they do not have enough money to make the long journey back home.
Further, with the coronavirus pandemic affecting businesses all over, work is extremely hard to come by, leading to further financial distress for the migrant labourers.
Hence, the labourers have said they would vote for the party which bears their travel expenses.
"We are currently surviving on the little money we had brought from home. If someone takes us back home, we will definitely vote for him," said Mohammed Khushboor, a migrant labourer from Bihar.
