RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav coming out of Patna airport Delhi/Patna: A large crowd of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supporters and well-wishers thronged the Patna airport on Friday to welcome RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav. After several hours of waiting, the party workers and supporters have a glimpse of their popular leader Lalu Prasad when he was taken out of the airport in a wheelchair.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Lalu Prasad's younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav was accompanying his father from New Delhi. RJD chief's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav was seen with his father at the Patna airport. This was RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's first visit to Bihar's capital Patna when he went to Singapore for a kidney transplant. RJD leaders, party workers and supporters were eagerly waiting for the homecoming of their supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The speculation was rife that after Lalu Prasad Yadav's return to Patna, the political activities will gather steam. Although, the RJD supremo may not be calling the shots directly, his guidance to his younger son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will be valuable. RJD chief Lalu Prasad's entry into Bihar politics after a long gap will give impetus to the opposition camp. The importance of Lalu Prasad in uniting the opposition leaders could be gauged from the fact that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met the latter.
Kumar held talks with Lalu Prasad in New Delhi and chalked out a strategy to unite opposition leaders for the general elections in 2024. Political experts believe that with the arrival of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav to Patna, the mood of the party workers is upbeat. The RJD chief's guidance to the Grand Alliance government in Bihar following JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar's parting ways with BJP will be beneficial in the coming days.
