Speeding car goes up in flames, one occupant dead

A car was set ablaze on Muzaffarpur-Darbhanga national highway on Friday after it hit a divider and then crashed into a roadside bush.

Muzaffarpur:A speeding car went up in flames on a highway in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district after it hit a divider and then crashed into a roadside bush burning alive one of its occupants and left another grievously injured on Friday.

The incident occurred on Muzaffarpur-Darbhanga national highway and a doctor who was one of its occupants was burnt alive in the flames that engulfed the car, the deputy superintendent of police (East) Gaurav Pandey said.

The compounder, who was driving the car, received serious burn injuries and locals admitted him to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital, Pandey said.

The victim was identified as a resident of Pratapganj of Supaul district, he said.
