New Delhi: RJD spokesperson and member of Rajya Sabha, Manoj Jha on Saturday criticised Nitish Kumar government for failing to manage the corona-crisis in Bihar.

"People are unnecessarily suffering because of government's failure and mismanagement. Bihar is all over the news for having so many quarantine centres in a miserable and unhygienic state. Migrants who are returning to their home state are being compelled to stay in such quarantine centres which are putting them at a higher risk of getting infected by the deadly virus," the RJD leader said.

He further added that migrants in Bihar are being deprived of every basic need, there is no proper screening and basic protocol to battle COVID-19 is also being overlooked. "The state government instead of taking charge of the crisis has apparently surrendered everything to almighty," he said.

"The health minister put out details of testing where he stated, crores of people were tested. However, the ground reality speaks a different story," Rajya Sabha member elaborated.

Accusing Bihar Chief Minister of being inconsiderate, he said migrant workers are having no relief, all schemes and COVID-19 measures of government seems to be in vain. "The inactiveness of the authorities and ministers has rendered the state in an awful condition. Nitish Kumar is not even allowing other parties to help the migrants, he is being absolutely discourteous and impudent," Jha exclaimed.

He elaborated that few ministers of JDU are taking the crisis as an opportunity. "They should stop being so insensitive and should work towards the welfare of society," he added.
