RJD making false claims to stay relevant: JD(U)

JD(U) spokesperson Ajay Alok attacked the RJD for making false allegations regarding Nitish Kumar's alleged interest in rejoining the grand alliance after six months of joining the NDA. He claimed that RJD needs to remain in the headlines inorder to stay relevant.

New Delhi: Responding to the statements given by former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, Janata Dal(United) spokesperson Ajay Alok said that RJD is making false claims to remain relevant in the current political scenario.

Earlier, Former Chief Minister of Bihar and National Vice President of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Rabri Devi had said that Nitish Kumar wanted to return to the alliance with RJD within six months of joining the NDA.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Ajay Alok criticised the RJD and Lalu Prasad Yadav for making allegations against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

"To be relevant in the state of Bihar and to remain in the political discourse, RJD feels the need to criticise Nitish Kumar and JD(U)," he said.

Babri Devi had alleged that Nitish sent political strategist Prashant Kishor several times to Lalu Yadav in a bid to rejoin the grand alliance.

She had also claimed that an offer was made to make Tejashvi Yadav as the CM candidate in Bihar in the 2020 assembly elections while Nitish Kumar would be the PM candidate of the Grand Alliance.

Ajay Alok also said that alliance with RJD ended in July 2017 and questioned Rabri Devi's silence on the issue until 2019.

He also said that rejoining RJD would be suicidal for his party.

Responding to allegations that JD(U) leader Prashant Kishor met with Lalu Yadav five times, Ajay Alok said that baseless claims are being made by RJD to defame Nitish Kumar in the run-up to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"Prashant Kishor never met Lalu Yadav or Rabri Devi ever since joining the JD(U)," he said.
