Patna: Long time back, Pappu Yadav had once said that if he would not have been a politician then he would have been a social worker. Unfortunately, he landed in politics but continued his social work, however, he confessed that he is an unpredictable missile who can land in random directions.

Coming from a landlord family, Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) president today while talking exclusively to ETV Bharat accepted that he does not mind people calling him an unguided or unpredictable missile and he is proud of it.

He, however, did not give the satisfactory logic behind his claim but stressed that youths like unpredictable missiles and he has become the icon for the youths in Bihar. Interestingly, on several occasions, he has attacked youth leaders like Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.

While being in RJD - on several occasions, Pappu had gone against Lalu Prasad on various issues and had spoken against the party. He in-fact once announced that he does not care for any leader in the party except Lalu.

Not only Lalu, the five-term MP and one term MLA Pappu is outspoken against most of the leaders in Bihar. The former Madhepura MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav had termed the then CM Jitan Ram Manjhi a ‘Nakara’ (inefficient) person.

Interestingly, the man who himself has a controversial track record of robbery to ransom. However, it is also a fact that the former don is known with a Robin Hood persona.

He clarified that from where does he get so much of money claiming that he has sold his land and distributed money to the needy people.

Papu, however, stated that he is neither a don nor Robin Hood but will always fight against the corrupt system, feudal mentality and the uncontrolled bureaucracy. On several occasions, Pappu had said that the tag of don is given by those people who are jealous of his benevolence attitude.

Married to Ranjeet Ranjan in 1994, a Congress leader and former MP, Pappu did not miss the opportunity to attack both chief minister Nitish Kumar and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

“The CM and Dy CM of Bihar were packed in their house when people of Patna were facing floods last year. It was Pappu Yadav who continuously worked hard, distributed medicine, food and other necessary items to the people. Both ran away leaving the people of Bihar in pain. It was Pappu Yadav who visited from house to house meeting the people to share their apathy and sorrows. I am the son of Bihar and I owe everything to the people,” Pappu said.

He has a post-graduate diploma in human rights and a postgraduate diploma in disaster management from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He was given the nickname Pappu by his grandfather Laxmi Prasad Mandal at his childhood. Due to helping nature, he is considered the voice of the Kosi region.

Pappu also asserted that the word votekatua(vote-cutter) is not for him and it is the character of the person which defines whether he is vote-cutter or not.

“In politics, if there is such a person then Nitish Kumar is the biggest votekatua.People of Bihar have seen 15 years of Lalu ji and 15 years of Nitish ji. Now there should be a change and they must give me at least 3 years to rule Bihar", Pappu said.

Yadav, first became MLA in 1990 (Independent) from Singhesarsthan assembly seat, three times MP as an independent candidate from Purnea in 1991, 1996, 1999 two-term MP from Madhepura on RJD ticket in 2004 and 20014.

In 2008, he was convicted in the murder of CPM’s one-time Purnea legislator, Ajit Sarkar. In 2013, he was acquitted by Patna High Court.

In Bihar assembly election, he has formed a front with nine different political parties on the name of Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA) and set field candidates on all 243 seats.

However, it's just a matter of one month and things would be clear whether Pappu makes any impact or will repeat his last year Lok Sabha performance in which all his candidates lost their security deposits as well.
