New Delhi: After incessant rain threw life out of gear on Saturday, Bihar now braces for another day of hardships as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for widespread rainfall across the state on Sunday as well.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) chief Pappu Yadav said: "I am with the people of Bihar in this difficult time. People need our help. Today, I will be visiting Patna and will provide people with all the help I can. I cannot be a mute spectator in this difficult situation."

"The condition is very bad in Patna. People do not have enough food to eat and also there is no availability of clean drinking water. People are dying and the government of Bihar is doing nothing for them," Yadav added.

A day ago, as incessant rain pounded the state for over 24 hours, Patna saw flooding on a scale that, older residents say, was last seen 45 years ago during the 1974 floods.

The flooding across the state claimed 10 lives till now with a minor boy being electrocuted in Patna after he accidentally touched an electric pole while wading through knee-deep water. Four others died in Gaya after three mud houses collapsed in the district.
