NRC must be implemented in Bihar: Minister

Bihar minister Prem Kumar suggested that NRC be implemented in Bihar as well. Kumar hoped that the Centre will take a decision regarding the issue soon.

New Delhi:As Assam declared the final NRC list on August 31, Bihar's Agriculture minister and senior BJP leader Prem Kumar on Friday expressed that there is a definite need of implementation of NRC in the state of Bihar as well.

He is expecting that the Centre will soon introduce it in Bihar as well.

He said there is a large number of Bangladeshi immigrants settled in North Bihar, which increases the necessity of its implementation.

On being asked about Janata Dal's take on NRC in Bihar, Prem Kumar said that everybody has the right to express their opinions in a democracy, but the final call belongs to the Centre.

He stated that the state shall abide by the Centre's decision.
