Patna:LJP president Chirag Paswan on Monday said he had chosen the 'difficult path' when his party decided to walk out of the NDA in Bihar. The aim, he said, is to restore Bihar's lost pride.
"If I had to choose the easier path, I would have joined the 'Mahagathbandhan'. But I chose a difficult path to give Bihar its due and bring back the state's lost pride, "Chirag Paswan said while speaking about his party's decision to go alone in the upcoming Bihar elections.
Paswan said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had failed to fulfil the expectations of the people as well as alliance partners. Nitish's JDU leads the government in Bihar in coalition with the LJP and the BJP.
'We had many expectations from the current Bihar CM, but he hasn't fared well on those. Today, it's a matter of concern for me as to what is Bihar CM's idea of development. The benefits of schemes haven't reached the grassroots,' the LJP chief said.
"I have been working on the Bihar First, Bihari First document, which has been prepared by LJP. I have prepared this after getting inspired by PM Modi. I have always insisted that this vision document should be incorporated (in the plan of governance). Why don't we get opportunities within our state itself? People have to go out for studies and jobs. I came to politics with this vision," he added.
