Nepali citizens uproot pillar near Sita Cave in Bihar

Pillar 436 was allegedly uprooted by Nepali citizens near Sita cave in Bhikhanathori of West Champaran. The SSB 44th Battalion along with POP from Bhikhanathori reached the spot after being informed by the locals.

Pillar 436 at No Men's land in Bhikhanathori of West Champaran was uprooted as Nepalis have started to stake claims on sites associated with Lord Ram near Indo-Nepal border.

This comes after the Nepal Prime Minister Oli on July 13 claimed that the 'real' Ayodhya lies in Nepal, not in India and that Lord Ram was born in Thori in southern Nepal.

The SSB 44th Battalion along with POP from Bhikhanathori reached the spot after the locals informed about the incident.

SSB Commandant in-charge AK Singh said: "BoP Inspector Pritam Kumar along with jawans reached the spot after being informed about the incident. Assistant General Shailesh Kumar Singh has kept an eye over the entire incident."

"Nepal's Minister and SDO of Thori's Parsa district visited Sita cave after which the Nepali citizen uprooted the pillar in the presence of Nepali police," he added.

Reportedly, Nepalis are continuously visiting and offering prayers at the Sita cave from last two days after Nepal's PM claimed that Ayodhya lies in their country.

The Nepali locals believe that Goddess Sita stayed in this cave before going to Valmiki Ashram.

However, people from both countries earlier visited this cave to offer prayers and perform rituals.
