Chhapra (Bihar): Three men were beaten to death at Baniyapur village in Saran district this morning by a mob that accused them of stealing cattle on Friday.
Police said that the three were spotted at around 4:30 am with a pick-up truck that allegedly had cattle.
In yet another incident of mob violence, three people were allegedly beaten to death by the locals in Saran, Bihar on suspicion of cattle theft. Villagers caught hold of the men and beat them mercilessly until they died.
The family of the deceased have claimed that they were not there for theft of cattle. They went for the purchase of cattle but the villagers caught them and beaten them to death. The Sarpanch of the village informed them about the incident.
The three men were taken by the police to Sadar hospital in Chhapra where they were declared dead by doctors.
According to the police, the villagers were angry because there had been some incidents of cattle theft in recent weeks.
Family members of the men killed in mob attack have filed a first information report against the villagers. A police case has also been filed against the alleged cattle thieves by the villagers.
Bodies have been sent for postmortem and further investigation is underway.
