Patna (Bihar): In a shocking case of negligence by the authorities in Bihar, the sons of a COVID victim themselves carried their deceased father's body and placed it inside an ambulance, as no medical team had been sent to their house.

According to reports, a 50-year-old COVID-19 positive man, who was in home isolation in Patna, died early in the morning. The deceased's sons kept calling the authorities to send a medical team to take the body away, but to no avail.

Finally, after struggling for 11 hours, during which the body remained at the deceased's house, an ambulance arrived. However, the ambulance arrived without a medical team.

To make matters worse, even the driver was not wearing a PPE kit.

Having no other option, the brothers themselves bought PPE suits, wore them and carried the body to the ambulance.

"We got tired of calling the officials. After so many hours, even the body started smelling," said the son of the deceased.

"Nobody is listening to us. Even our house has not been sanitised," rued the other son.
